This Privacy Policy explains how GybeMark treats information connected with gybemark.com and with home-improvement conversations that begin on this website. We wrote it in plain language because flooring and painting decisions already ask enough of a household. Last updated: 19 September 2026.
1. Our approach
GybeMark is a finishing studio, not a data broker. We need enough information to reply to an enquiry, to specify a floor or a paint system, and to send a newsletter only if you ask for one. We do not sell lists of homeowners. We do not buy lists of homeowners. We do not use this website to profile children.
This site is static. Forms validate in your browser and show a thank-you message. They do not automatically store your words on a GybeMark server. If you want a planner to act, follow the on-screen confirmation by writing to hello@gybemark.com with the same details, or wait for a planner who has already been in correspondence with you. Treat any form on this demo-style static site as a rehearsal of the information you are willing to share, then send it by email if you need a record.
2. Information you may choose to give us
Depending on the form or email, you might share:
- Name and email address
- A description of rooms, finishes, and how the household uses the space
- Photographs of floors, walls, stairs, or wet rooms
- Service interest such as flooring, painting, tiling, wallpaper, or carpet
- Newsletter preference, including a later request to unsubscribe
Please do not send copies of passports, payment-card numbers, or medical information. Those details are not required to quote a hallway or a kitchen floor. If a photograph shows people, especially children, consider cropping faces before you attach the file. We do not need faces to read a skirting profile.
3. Information collected automatically
When you browse a website, your device typically sends a request that includes a browser type, language, and a technical address used to deliver the page. GybeMark’s static files do not run a marketing pixel of our own. If you host these pages with a provider, that provider may keep ordinary server logs. Those logs are the host’s, governed by the host’s policy. We do not use them to retarget you with ads for laminate.
Font and icon files may be loaded from third-party delivery networks so the site can match our chosen typefaces. Those networks receive the technical request needed to send the file. If you prefer not to use those networks, the layout still works, though typography may fall back to a system font.
4. Why we use information
We use enquiry details to understand the rooms, to ask better questions, and to prepare a visit or a written scope. We use email addresses to reply and, if you subscribe, to send occasional notes about material care, seasonal finishing, and studio projects. We use photographs only to specify work, never as public portfolio pieces unless you later agree in a separate conversation.
We do not use your renovation brief to train public generative models. We do not append your email to an industry list. We do not send messages about unrelated products such as insurance or loans.
5. Newsletters, subscribe, and unsubscribe
Subscription is optional. The Subscribe page asks for an email so we know where to send finish notes. The Unsubscribe page exists so you can tell us to stop. Because this website’s forms are client-side, a successful on-screen message means your browser accepted the format of the address. To make the preference real, send the same request to hello@gybemark.com with the subject “Subscribe” or “Unsubscribe”. We will not make unsubscription difficult, and we will not require a reason.
If a colleague subscribed an office address on your behalf, the person who controls that inbox may unsubscribe. We will not argue about who clicked first.
6. Sharing
We may share what we must share to do the work you asked for: a dye-lot code with a mill, a grout color with a tile house, a protection note with a crew member. We do not share your enquiry with other households. We may share information if the law requires it, or if we must protect the studio against fraud or abuse of the website.
If GybeMark is reorganized, enquiry files that are still active may move with the studio so that a half-finished stair does not lose its history. You would be told if that happens and if a new name will appear on correspondence.
7. Photographs and project stories
Before-and-after images are the most honest way to explain a floor or a painted stair. We will not publish the interior of your home without talking to you first. Even then, we can omit street-facing windows, family art, or anything that would identify the household. If you later change your mind, write to us and we will stop using new publications of those images. Printed brochures already distributed cannot always be recalled, but digital pages under our control can be updated.
8. Retention
Emails about a live project stay with the project file until the work is complete and any workmanship questions have settled. Care-plan notes stay for as long as the plan is active. Newsletter addresses stay until you unsubscribe. Abandoned enquiries that never become a visit may be deleted after a quiet period so that an old mood-board does not linger without purpose.
You may ask what we hold about a conversation you started. Write to hello@gybemark.com. We will need enough detail to find the right thread and to avoid handing one household’s file to another.
9. Security
No email system is perfect. Do not send secrets through a contact form. Use ordinary caution: confirm you are writing to hello@gybemark.com, and be wary of anyone who claims to be GybeMark and asks for remote access to your computer or for a payment to a personal wallet. Our quotations describe payment terms in writing. We will never ask you to pay a stranger to “release a delivery of oak”.
10. Children
This website is written for adults who commission home-improvement work. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted a form, write to us and we will delete the message from any mailbox we control.
11. International readers
gybemark.com may be viewed from many places. We do not use this policy to announce a particular country of establishment. If you write to us, you choose to send that message across the network to our studio inbox. Local consumer and privacy rules that apply to you still apply to you. Where those rules give you rights to access, correction, or deletion, we will honour requests that we can reasonably verify.
12. Cookies and similar tools
The static pages themselves do not set an advertising cookie. Your browser may store ordinary preferences such as a language or a scroll position. You can clear those in your browser settings. Third-party font or icon hosts may set their own cookies; those are not GybeMark cookies, and you can block third-party cookies if you wish.
13. Links
Social icons and occasional outbound links lead to sites we do not operate. Their privacy practices are their own. A share button is an invitation, not a transfer of your enquiry file.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change how the studio handles information, we will update this page and the date above. Material changes—such as introducing a real server-side form—will be described in language as plain as this. Continued browsing after an update means you have had a chance to read the new text.
15. How to reach us about privacy
Privacy questions, access requests, subscribe confirmations, and unsubscribe requests should go to hello@gybemark.com with a clear subject line. We read those messages with the same care we give a moisture reading: slowly, and with the intention of leaving the house in better order than we found it.
If you are unhappy with a reply, say so. A finishing studio can correct a missed unsubscription faster than it can recut a mis-ordered herringbone, and we would rather do the easy thing well.
